Contacting a Stud Farm
When you match your mare with a promoted stallion, a Contact Farm banner appears above the result. It sends an enquiry to the farm about that specific mating, without leaving the platform or hunting for contact details.
Where it appears
Run a match from the Stallions tab and select your broodmare. Once the analysis loads, the banner sits at the top of the result with a button naming the farm, for example Contact Ridgemont about this mating.
The farm's branding also appears alongside the pedigree, between the stallion and your mare.
Click the chevron at the right of the banner to expand it and read the note explaining what the result shows.
Sending an enquiry
Clicking the button opens the Contact Farm form, addressed to the farm by name.
Three fields are filled for you:
- Full Name and Email Address, taken from your account. Both can be edited if you want the farm to reply elsewhere.
- Select Your Mare, pre-set to the mare in the match. The dropdown lets you switch to another of your mares if you would rather ask about a different one.
Add your enquiry in the Message box, then click Send. The Send button stays inactive until the form is complete.
Sending an enquiry means agreeing to the Terms of Use, linked beneath the button.

What to put in the message
The farm already knows which stallion and which mare you are asking about, so use the message for what they cannot see.
Useful things to include: whether you are asking about the coming season or a later one, whether you need the fee where it is listed as private, whether the book is still open, and any transport, agistment or terms questions.
Keep it short. A specific question gets a faster answer than a general expression of interest.
Before you enquire
Check the alternatives on the same roster. If several stallions at one farm suit your mare, Roster Mating will show which, and you can raise them in one message.
Export the analysis. The PDF button saves the match, which is useful to have alongside the conversation.

You do not need a rated mating to enquire
A mating does not have to return a Perfect Match or 20/20 Match for the enquiry option to appear.
Where a mating carries no rating, the banner explains that while the cross is not classified as a Perfect Match or a 20/20 Match, the results below still list global stakes winners sharing similarities with it.
That is worth reading rather than skimming. A rating is a threshold, and a mating can fall below it while still showing real resemblance to proven horses. Look at the Stakes Winners Comparison before deciding a cross is not worth an enquiry.
Replies from farms
A farm responding is answering you directly rather than sending a mailing. If you have turned off messages from farms in your notification settings, consider whether that will affect replies you are waiting for.
If a stallion has no Contact Farm option
The option depends on the farm having promoted the stallion on G1 Goldmine. Stallions matched through Any Stallion Match are not necessarily promoted, so no enquiry route will appear for them.
That does not prevent you analysing the mating. It only means the farm has not listed the horse here, and you would need to approach them another way.
